The Texas High Plains Grain Elevator Workshop will be held Feb. 5 at the Ashmore Inn and Suites, 2301 Interstate 40 East in Amarillo.

The workshop will begin with registration at 8 a.m. and wrap up with the handing out of continuing education units at 4 p.m. It is sponsored by the Texas AgriLife Extension Service and the Tri-State Chapter of Grain Elevator and Processing Society.

Pat Porter, AgriLife Extension entomologist in Lubbock, said the program topics will include rodent control, effectiveness of stored grain protectants, railcar fumigation, grain grading, dust management, and Texas Department of Agriculture laws and regulations.

There is a $35 registration fee, and pre-registration is requested by Jan. 16. All checks should be made payable to Tri-State Chapter of GEAPS and sent to the attention of Ronda Fisher at Texas AgriLife Extension Service, 6500 W. Amarillo Blvd., Amarillo, Texas 79106.
